Short Address Requirement for Saudi Arabia Shipments

The National Address is the official unified addressing system in the Kingdom. It consists of six key elements: building number, street name, district, city, postal code, additional number, and unit number (when available).

It also includes the Short Address, a simplified format that makes it easy to share and use.

A Short Address is a standardized location code required under the TGA structured address framework in Saudi Arabia. It improves address accuracy, routing precision, and delivery reliability across the Kingdom.

A Short Address is mandatory for all shipments where Saudi Arabia is listed as the shipper, receiver, or pickup location. This requirement is enforced by the Transport General Authority (TGA), the official transport regulator of Saudi Arabia, and applies to all types of shipments to or from Saudi Arabia.

A Short Address consists of 4 letters followed by 4 digits (e.g., RUKN2929) and is assigned to a specific physical location as a unique reference.

Using a Short Address ensures compliance with TGA regulations, improves address validation, reduces delivery exceptions, enhances routing efficiency, and minimizes processing delays.

Customers must obtain the correct Short Address from all Saudi Arabia-related contacts, including customers, suppliers, warehouses, pickup locations, and recurring addresses.

The Short Address must be saved in the designated Short Address field in the address book to ensure future shipment compliance.

Yes. All Saudi Arabia addresses in mailing lists or bulk shipment databases must be updated to include a valid Short Address.

For Saudi Arabia shipments, Address Line #3 is designated as the Short Address field.

Through the National Address website, National Address App, Tawakkalna App, or digital maps.

Their place of residence (such as a hotel) is used as a temporary National Address.
