FAQs – Shipping Online

Weights and Dimensions

Accuracy is important, so if you have to estimate, try to be as accurate as possible.

  • DHL reweighs and measures all parcels once they arrive at our service centers.
  • If your estimated weight and dimensions are inaccurate, it may result in additional charges.
The actual weight is the weight of the shipment, including packaging, as it physically weighs.
Volumetric weight is calculated by multiplying the length in centimeters of the three sides (including packaging) and then dividing by 5,000: (length * width * height / 5,000)
Example: 40 cm * 52 cm * 23 cm / 5,000 = 9.57 kg
This means that if your shipment is large in dimensions but light in actual weight, the volumetric weight will be used to determine your shipping price.

Packaging

Yes. If you pack your packages with proper materials and securely, it helps ensure that the shipment arrives safely and intact.

Shipment Price

All our contract customers can find a price sheet at the back of their contract and calculate the shipping price based on weight and shipping zone.
However, please note that the shipping prices in the price sheet are shown without VAT, fuel surcharges, and any other optional services and additional charges (e.g., customs duties and fees related to customs processing).
If you would like to know your total price before deciding to ship with DHL, you can log in to MyDHL+ and see an estimated total price for your shipment.
The shipping price of your shipment is calculated based on the heaviest weight of the shipment (including packaging) - either the actual weight or the volumetric weight.
